"I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."
For the past five years, Ron and I have spent hours dreaming about community, good coffee, and Christ for the city. Hope college. Western Theological Seminary. First Jobs. New jobs. New house. New dog. New city. With our ears close to the ground, we've worked hard to listen to God's call - do something different - take the road less traveled.
And so we have! Today, marks the beginning of a call that God has been orchestrating before we ever could speak the words ourselves. To start a church in the heart of Downtown Grand Rapids, will not be an easy task. We're not experienced. We're not seasoned pastors. We're afraid of failing. But we're equipped with the will of God and readiness to love and serve people passionately.
Here on this page, you can search for God's good hand working through us. On this blog, experience this seedling's vision and values growing to life. Here, we will work through difficult questions of life and death. Here we can experience resurrection as we continue to follow the Spirit guiding us toward restoration right here, right now. This is what it means to Church Plant - GR.
And on a different note, we spent the morning at the Early Bird Cafe as a small celebration of things to come - both hard, and fun, and scary. Here's to new things!
P.S. I [Anna] will be working to update the blog every other Saturday morning or so. Check here for continual updates, prayer requests, hopes, more dreams, or just cries for help. Andddd, if you're interested in getting invested click HERE. :)
