City Chapel May Monthly Update
Hey friends! Welcome to what finally feels like spring in Michigan! Things are kicking into gear for City Chapel as we get closer to pre-services and launching. Exciting things are ahead!
The first week of each month on the blog will be dedicated to the happenings of the City Chapel. It’s our hope that this update will keep City Chapel’s community informed, while also inviting those curious about City Chapel into our fold. These updates will be used to share wins we’re celebrating, what City Chapel is up to this month, how you can get involved, and things you can pray for. Are you ready? Here we go!
City Chapel has received a grant from Calvin Worship Institute to begin a project geared toward cultivating a worshiping community of artists. This project will be led by our friend Garrett Stier and will focus primarily on resourcing artists invested Grand Rapids.
What We’re Up To
Let’s taco-bout a good time, shall we? On May 5 you’re invited to a taco party from 1-3 pm at Ron and Anna’s (556 Lafayette). There will be food and lots of fun so you won’t want to miss it
Mark your calendars! Ron and Anna will be preaching at Fifth Reformed on Sunday, May 27 at 10am. We’d love to have as many City Chapel peeps as possible there to show Ron and Anna support.
For the past few months we’ve enjoyed gathering at the Downtown Market on Sunday mornings. If you haven’t made it yet, we’d love to have you! Grab a cup of joe or a tasty treat and meet us on the second floor for a time of scripture reading and prayer.
If you’re around this evening, the City Chapel core team, along with others from the community, will be joining the monthly Grand Rapids Original Swing Society summer swing dance in Rosa Parks Circle. Join us for a time of community building, dancing, and relaxing in the heart of the city.
Mark your calendars! Our first preview service will be June 17 at CityFlats beginning at 10:15 am!
Are you planning to come to the taco party? Consider hanging out for the after party and help us pick up chairs or scrub a bowl or two. It’s bound to be a great time! Contact Anna or Ron for more info.
Launching a church takes lots of willing hands. If you’re interested in helping us make City Chapel happen, please visit this spreadsheet and sign up for whatever tasks you can! Teamwork makes the dream work!
